Please help! Does anyone have experience
shipping containers/partial containers of
furniture/miscellaneous by water to the usa
preferably Charleston, S.C. I am trying to
find different resources and pricing. I would
like to be able to buy in the country side and transport to one location for pick-up.
any information or suggestions to find information will be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Hello!

I know how to ship household goods and an automobile from Germany to the US, but you didn't state from WHERE and WHAT it is you'd like to ship and how soon you will need it.

More details may help you.
Born To Shop: Paris by Suzy Gershman (I think that is her name) has information on shipping from Paris and I would imagine that Born To Shop: France has information also. I'm just assuming that it is from Paris or somewhere in France that you wish to ship from. So much depends on what, how much, and from where you wish to ship!

Thank you for your replys. I am an antique dealer and I buy all over the
country side in France and need to find
a shipping service that will pick up purchases and package and ship to the
United States on the southeast coast.
It seems there are several shippers that
provide this service but I do not know how to find them.
Thanks

I work for a family manufacturing company. We are trying to import some pieces from Italy and have also been trying to find help in this area. I recently obtained the address for the Italian Trade Commission which has a branch in Atlanta, GA. It is sponsored by the Italian gov and is set up to help American companies do business with Italian businesses. You should contact the France's tourism office here in the states, France may have a similiar setup. Also, a friend of mine is in the container business. I will get an email address for him. I do not think he does international stuff but he may have some other suggestions for you.
