Sheraton Towers - Brussels

Thinking of staying there because good rate, but no clue of areas in Brussels. Too far away from the fun? Walking distance to good food, shopping, subway, etc.?

You mean the one on the Place Rogier? It's certainly ok, nothing wrong with it, but not one I'd pick. the Place Rogier area is quite busy; it's commercial and is near the Rue Neuve and City 2 shopping areas (mostly mid-priced chain store stuff). There is a metro stop less than two minutes walk from the hotel (Rogier). What do you mean by "fun"? For nice restaurants, again, it's not the first area I'd pick, but Brussels is easy enough to get around in.
I don't know what your rate is, but in the 4* biz class category, I'd much rather stay at the Sofitel Toison d'Or. I've gotten rates there of about 110 euros per night.

Thanks for the tip, BTilke. Sofitel looks interesting, but with no restaurant I probably will keep looking. Is the Quater Louise the Sofitel is located an inetresting and convenient area for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing? Am I making too much of there being no restaurant at Sofitel? How about the Marriott across form the stock exchange and the area surrounding it?

I'll jump in on this one. The Sofitel's location is excellent I think. It's in the middle of a shopping district and there are plenty of nice restaurants in walking distance. I think it would be a very good choice. I'm organizing a stay here in Brussels next month for some colleagues and I looked at the Sofitel as well as the "NH City Centre" which is cheaper but nice and also very well located in a nearby neighborhood. Both are walking distance to the Louise Metro stop. Good luck and enjoy Brussels!

Yes, I think you are over focusing on the need for a restaurant in the hotel. Brussels abounds in excellent restaurants and there are several within a short tram or taxi ride from your hotel (or within a 15 minute walk). There are also several perfectly fine restaurants even closer than that.

I meant near the Sofitel, not the Sheraton.
