Sheraton Skyline
Im thinking about staying at the Sheraton Skyline near Heathrow for a night. Has anyone been there? What do you have to say about it?

While I can't yet give you feedback based on experience, I do have 2 pre-paid nights booked in August @ 50 pounds a night based on feedback from this site. The information I received combined with further research and the fact that it is a Sheraton brand hotel help me to feel confident in our selection. They also offer a shuttle to Heathrow which is very convenient.

We've stayed there several times and have no complaints. FYI, it's the most frequent LHR hotel to come up on Priceline, so if PL is an option for you I'd strongly recommend visiting www.biddingfortravel.com to see if it's come up close to your travel days - we usually get it for around US$60 a night, v. the £150 rack rate.
The "Hoppa bus" from LHR stops there; however if Terminal 4 is your destination be warned that it's a major pain to get to the Skyline from T4 easily. The Hoppa costs £3 each way, so it's not a "shuttle" in the US sense. Actually pretty inferior service. Actually, stinks. There are free public buses on Bath Rd. in front of the hotel to LHR, except they're slower and less direct, and luggage is a hassle. Ask the concierge. The rooms are very comfortable - the ones facing the runway (across Bath Rd) are great for jet-lagged plane spotters to watch all the big birds take off. The restaurants are very expensive and so-so; the Marriott next door has better offerings on that front. If you're not using Priceline, register for a Starwood frequent visitor number (free) and be sure to give it to them at checkin - you'll probably get upgraded. |
Thanks for the Starwood insight Gardyloo, I'm signing up right now....

We got the Skyline Sheraton for an upcoming trip on Priceline for $67. This will be the first time we'll be staying there. We've stayed at the Marriott next door a couple of times (also thru Priceline.) There is a local pub within walking distance to the hotels. If you walk past the Marriott and turn down the first street - follow that to the end of the street and there is a nice little pub that serves decent pub grub. Much more reasonable than the hotel restaurants. There is also a McDonalds just down the street as well.

Sheraton Skyline is a luxury hotel right near Heathrow..
I always stay there when I am flying out of Heathrow in the early am.... It was being renovated a few years back but the rooms are spacious and have a/c and are really nice. There is a airport shuttle that take you there but there is a charge---not like the USA where the shuttles are free. Hotel will even let you leave your bags for extended time in their hold room..We did this when we went from London to Rome and then back to London --they kept our luggage for 10 days--no charge and super nice about it! Highly recommend this hotel! |
