Sheraton Roma shuttle bus

We are staying in central Rome except the last night. We are booked at the Sheraton Roma for our last night. Thought it would be closer to the airport and we could take the shuttle to the airport in the morning. We plan to check out of our downtown Rome hotel late in the day, take ourselves and our luggage to the Sheraton Roma in the late afternoon, lounge by the pool, have dinner and get to bed early for the early morning flight.

Thanks!

My question: If we want to get from the center of Rome to the Sheraton Roma can we catch the hotel's shuttle bus? The web site says it stops at Piazza Venezia. Our central Rome hotel is on Via del Corso. Are these places close to one another? Will it work to haul our luggage on the shuttle bus?

Via del Corso runs into the Piazza Venezia but it depends on exactly where on the Corso your hotel is. Most of the hotels are far north, near Piazza del Popolo, and you would need to take a city bus down the Corso to Piazza Venezia. The Piazza Venezia is pretty big and busy, very hard to cross, even without lugging suitcases. You would need to find out from the Sheraton where exactly on the Piazza the shuttle stops. It might not be a bad idea to ask the Sheraton if your plan is all right with them since you wouldn't yet be registered guests of the hotel when you and your luggage got on the bus. To me, the idea of switching hotels for the last night doesn't make much sense as it is so easy to arrange for a taxi to take you from your hotel in the center of Rome to the airport in the early morning. It costs about 40 Euro and takes less than 30 minutes. That 40 Euro is well worth not having to lug suitcases onto various forms of transportation, check out and in at two hotels and best of all, having one more magical night in the historic center of Rome.

We just came from there, the Sherton Roma Hotel. I do not think you are going to save any valuable time by staying there before you leave. The hotel is about a good 40 minutes from the Rome train station.
We personally thought the hotel sucked to put it lightly. The hotel food was okay, and pretty pricey for what you can get. I would recommend staying where you are and then taking a cab to the airport, or try taking the train.
Good luck.
