Sheraton Roma

Has anyone stayed there? I am afraid it's too far from the center of Rome and will spend too much time on a shuttle bus - has anyone stayed there before?

We stayed there for 1 night last week on our return from the Amalfi Coast. Stayed there for 2 reasons: 1)cheap deal using Starwood points and 2) it is much more convenient to the airport and has a free shuttle. It was fine although packed with business people. Mainly a convention type hotel. NO Italian feel at all. Did not do the downtown shuttle although the buses are first class. Personally, if you can afford it, there is NO WAY I would stay out there over staying in old Rome. We stayed at the Del Senato and it was great.

I have stayed there, when on business. It is a typical business-class hotel, but not what I would recommend for a visit to Rome. It is not just the distance, its that you could be outside any city anywhere in the world.

Stay in the centre of Rome so you can be surrounded by its magic every moment. You will not regret it :)

If there isn't a lot of traffic, the shuttle should take about 15 minutes each way from the Sheraton to Piazza Venezia, assuming it is non stop.

We were also looking at Hotel Miami - Via Nazionale 230 which is closer to the center of the city. Has anyone stayed at that hotel?

Hi Danaak,

My family( 2 adults, 2 children) stayed at the Hotel Miami for 10 days this past Christmas holiday. We liked it. The hotel itself takes up 3 floors of a commercial building. The entry and lobby are a little strange but the location is great.

Across the street are good restaurants, on the corner is a pharmacy, it's within walking distance to the train station, and a good number of attractions.

The hotel staff was great and the room (good size bath with lots of marble) very nice. I would stay there again.
