sharing a suitcase

Leaving for Paris tomorrow (yay!) and my domestic partner and I were considering just bringing one suitcase--we're packing light and could fit all our clothes in one. We would each have small backpacks as carry-ons. My question is: when we go through customs we will be separated (I'm British, he's American) so will it be a problem if all my stuff is in his suitcase?

I wouldn't think so. I travel with a Dutch friend often and have never had a problem with our stuff being in one another's luggage when entering European territories. Just explain the situation if asked.

He MIGHT get some stares when they see your little black panties in there, but just tell him to smile and keep a stiff upper lip.

Travelers go through the same customs lines generally. It's the passport control which separates the natives from the non-natives.

oh, I was thinking we would be separate for customs too, cool!

I love the panties comment! ha ha!

My question is, if you are sharing one suitcase with only a small carry-on each, will you be able to fit/bring home any trinkets and treasures from Paris?
