Share your list! Favorite vacation spots in Italy

We are just over one month back from our trip to Italy and I am starting to think about next June. Can you share your list of top, say, five or ten places to visit in Italy in order of preference? Feel free to be specific and/or tell why these are your favorites. Thanks!

I enjoy almost every place in Italy tho sometimes I am overwhelmed by certain areas in the major tourist cities, such as around Piazza San Marco in Venice. But the rest of the city - wonderful! I have visited the Amalfi Coast several times - staying one time in Sorrento and then twice on Capri. LOVE Capri! I love the art in Florence but the city itself does not charm me. Ravenna - the mosiacs, amazing! This year we are taking a trip with friends who have not been to Italy before so the trip has been planned for the big 3 - Venice, Rome and Florence. Instead of Florence we are going to Lucca - hopefully it will be a bit off the tourist track and charming. I have only been brifly to the Lakes and the Riviera coast - both are at the top of my list to go again and spend more time SOON. Hae fun planning your trip!

Our favorite place is Baur B&B in Acqui Terme in Piedmont. (www.baurbb.com). We loved the Piedmont region, much less crowded and touristy then Tuscany. The Baur B&B was an incredible place to stay and really made our trip. Diana and Michael are wonderful hosts, large rooms and bathrooms, wonderfully decorated and best of all - incredibly comfortable beds. The breakfasts were a stunnng display of the local bounty and everything was wonderfully prepared by Diana.

The regions of Veneto and Molise are two of my favorites. But one should have a car to truly enjoy these two regions rbnwdln.
