I read that it is at the top of the Samaritaine department store, but hopefully someone who's actually been to the Samaritaine restaurant could confirm whether that's correct.

It's actually not on the top of the Samaritaine, but on top of the Georges Pompidou Center, called Georges

Cigale posted the site of the restaurant at one time. It was Kong and it's above Kenzo's headquarters. I googled the url at that time and you can see the chairs that are the exact ones in the film.

I recently wandered thorugh the lobby of the Plaza AtheneE, where Big and Carrie re-met. There is the most incredible amber fragrance pervading it. Lamp oil? Candle ? Potpourri? ANYONE KNOW??

Hi guys,

1. Right, it was Kong;

2. I have been a couple of times to Paris and Kong was by far my worst food experience.

3. Pretentious restaurant. But the music is cool and the ladies are lovely.

4. There are only a few tables where you can actually enjoy the view: We had no view whatsoever.

5. Georges on top of Pompidou center is way much better in terms of view and food. Go to Kong for a drink at the bar area and enjoy the cool deco. It's plenty enough.

If you are talking about the scene b/t Carrie and the ex, played by Carole Bouquet, you are talking about Georges, not Kong. I assure you.

"What is this thread all about?"

Wally, I'm not sure. I think it is about Sex in the City of Paris and whether it was at Kong or Georges but I could be wrong. Another person thought it was at the museum (imagine that). And one person posted proof but all I saw when I clicked on the link was people eating and then another poster went there and said she had a ball. So I don't know.

The Samaritane is closed? Nooooo way. That was my favorite place to stay in Paris.

It's about the restaurant that was used as a location in one of the final episodes of Sex and the City when Carrie came to Paris with her boyfriend and had lunch. The restaurant was Kong.
