Seville Spain Tapas Help!!
 

Leaving for Madrid and Sevilla in a few days. Need to know if local Tapas bars & restaurants except credit cards? Please help!

Many restaurants accept credit cards. Many tapas bars do, some don't. Best to either check ahead of time or have cash with you in case you happen to eat at one that doesn't accept credit cards.

The tradition of going from one tapas place to another lends itself to cash.

There is really nothing in the US which compares to it. You rarely have a meal in one place when eating tapas. In the cities and larger towns, you have few tapas, often the house specialty and a some wine and then off the next place.

Haven't been to Seville in awhile, but I'd say to be on the safe side, and to be able to swing into the local places and not just the ones on the tourist trail -- it's good to have some ready cash. I agree with Aduchamp1 - paying with cash is also more with the rhythm of doing tapas. (Tapas-hopping? Tapas crawl? That's really what it's like.)

(would strongly recommend Eslava, El Rinconcillo and Cervecería Giralda, but in general, Sevilla displays one of the best tapas scenes in all of Spain).

Yes, there's no percentage for tipping. Many people don't leave tips and if they do it's the extra change they receive. You will not insult people by tipping extra though.

I've lived in Sevilla for 17 years and I always tip 10%. Perhaps a bit less if I'm standing at the bar having tapas. I would take the "advice" from GoSpain with a grain of salt. Basically, there are no hard and fast rules. It is certainly quite acceptable to tip however much you want to. Personally, I find not tipping to be a bit cheesy.

More and more tapas bars are accepting credit cards these days, but always best to have enough cash just in case. If you need to use your card just ask before ordering. Oh, and the tip is usually left in cash, not added to the credit card bill.
