Seville or French Riviera

Hello all,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe next March/April. We are planning to spend some days in Paris at the start, then go to Bordeaux, Andorra and Barcelona for a few days. After Barcelona I would like to do one more place but am torn between a few and would like your guys' personal experience or opinions on which to choose. I have only ever been to Spain - Granada and Ibiza. My husband has been to most of Europe except Spain and French Riviera. Could you please help us choose between Seville and French Riviera. I worry that French Riviera will be too cold in March/April.

Much Thanks!

Dates please? It could be around Easter time. Then it will be busy, but of more cultural interest.
Both locations could be cold as weather is unpredictable

Seville is more likely to be warmer - and if not, there are more places inside to escape to than on the French Riviera. French Riviera, I most associate with beach and you may be unlucky going in March/April. All this said, I actually prefer the Languadoc to the French Riviera, and if its beach you are after thats not a million miles from Barcelona. Costa Brava is nearer still and places like Figueras,Begur,Calella Palafrugell and Cadaques are great places to visit.

April is a great time for Seville. It is much to hot in the summer. You are unlikely to fine reliable beach weather in Europe in March and April. We love Seville and would recommend it over the French Riviera in March/April.

Agree. we have visited Seville in April a couple of times and it was plenty warm - beach weather - although there is no guarantee. The Riviera is more likely to have cool and/or rainy weather.

I agree that you will have more predictable weather in Sevilla at that time of year, plus the city's cultural sites are unbeatable. Cordoba is also nearby, which makes an excellent day trip.
But either way, you'll have a great trip! Enjoy!

Thanks for all your replies everyone.

Could everyone please name their top 5 places to visit in Spain/France...keeping in mind we are looking at mid April.

I love beaches but understand that we won't get much beach weather in April!

Thanks

Please.... you ask a question like that and you will get meaningless answers.
Both countries are large and have a 1000's upon 1000's of places to visit. Plus what you make like we may not.

You could visit Seville twice for what it will cost you in the French Riviera :)

Difficult to predict. But we have been to Seville in late February and it was in the low 70's. Cool at night.

Our last visit during the third week of April, it was in the mid to high 70's.

I think Seville would be ideal.
