Seville Hotel info
We are traveling to Cordoba for the day and that evening will continue on to Seville spending one night/day in Seville before returning to Madrid. Any recommendations for a hotel that could accommodate a party of five? We would like something central and walking distance to most of the sights.

We loved Hotel Amadeus right in Santa Cruz Barrio...small, beautiful, lovely rooftop terrace, walking distance to everything. This hotel has been recommended quite a bit on the forums.
I would advise adding at least another night in Seville, if possible! |
Any hotel can accommodate a party of five. YOu don't mean in one room, do you? Because I think that will be almost impossible to find. I also stayed in Hotel Amadeus and liked it for a budget B&B, it was a convenient location (although it can be a bit difficult to find your way around some of those winding streets). I don't know if they have triples, but you could check. Their doubles (at least the higher cost ones) are fairly large. Maybe you should say who these five poeple are, because if it's two adults and three little children that can't be alone, choices will differ.
Your budget might be useful, also. There are some hotels more around the cathedral that would be a convenient location, probably a little more convenient than where Amadeus is. |
Thanks for you reply. We are a party of 5 adults and no we don't intend to stay in one room! One double one triple. I have read many favorable reviews of Hotel Amadeus and have just received a reply from them. I would love to spend more time in Seville but it just isn't going to work out this time.

Another vote for Amadeus. We spent New Year's Eve on the rooftop terrace.

Adding a vote for the Amadeus. It is a lovely hotel!

Maybe you want to think about just doing one or the other...Cordoba or Sevilla. Save the other one for next time. Just a thought.

If you'll stay in Amadeus you would be close to Las Columnas, a typical and very popular tapas bar.
http://azahar-sevilla.com/sevilletap...ga-santa-cruz/ Also world class flamenco on your doorstep. Casa de la Memoria is popular with tourists, but this is the real deal. Pastora Galván, one of the absolute finest flamenco dancers in the world today, has performed here once a week for a long time. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio...Andalusia.html You are also close to the Arab bath-house Aire de Sevilla. A friend of mine went five times in a week... http://www.airedesevilla.com/ |
I stayed at a triple room at Hosteria del Laurel, a wonderful small hotel with a great restaurant located at Plaza de los Venerables, in the midst of Barrio de Santa Cruz, about 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral and Alcazar de Sevilla. I really loved this hotel, with an amazing ambience. Even if you do not stay here go by this place- it is the former house where Jose Zorrilla wrote his classic novel "Don Juan Tenorio". There is a plaque on the wall which notes this fact. Check out the pictures on the website and you will see what an enchanting place and location.

BTW, RE: post above-- even though the website cites only doubles I asked for a triple room and got one. Everybody was in a twin comfortable bed, it was not a cot-type bed either.

If you can't get Amadeus, Hotel Murillo. One night in Seville?
