Seville Hotel
Trying to quickly resurrect a twice cancelled trip to Spain.
Last week May-first week June. Of course first choice hotel is booked - Las Casas de la Juderia. Anu suggestions for a replacement. Approximately same area and level. Thanks. |
I'm not sure what area the hotel you mentioned is in, but I suggest the Hotel Alfonso XIII - its magnificent.
Have a great vacation! E |
Myer -
They may be booked already, but have you tried the Hotel Amadeus? Also in the Santa Cruz area, and highly recommended here: www.hotelamadeussevilla.com |
The Hotel Alfonso XIII is probably not at the same level and 300-400 per night.
I'll check out Amadeus. Thanks. |
Myer,
If you got the "sold out" from Casas de la Juderia directly, try to book it on the internet through www.acommline.com, they hold an allotment until about 7 days before and they maybe still have some left. Also, the rate is cheaper than direct and includes their amazing buffet breakfast. I think it's on request, but they answer in about 48 hours tops. Another option, the Inglaterra hotel, a 4 star in Plaza Nueva, very near the Cathedral. It shows availability around those dates on www.ratestogo.com, a last minute booking site, for about 125 Euros. |
If that's the area in which you want to stay , the closest hotels to Las Casas would be the Alfonso XIII, Fernando III, and the Amadeus as mentioned. Fernando III is adjacent to LCdlJ and looked nice. I think next time I'll try the Amadeus. Also stayed at the Vincci la Rabida, a nice modern 4 star place by the Maestranza. It's a full-on hotel, not a charming little inn, but their bar on the 5th floor has an awesome, postcard view of the cathedral at night. Thought Las Casas was nice, but we needed a map to find our room! Enjoy Sevilla.

Hello,
I just booked our room at Juderia on Friday, 9th May. It was available on several hotel websites and found a standard room with all taxes and breakfast for $144/night through hotelclub.net. Hope that helps! (We, too, are resurecting our cancelled trip to Spain at the last minute!) |
Thanks BeachGirl,
It looks like HotelClub charges you credit card as soon as the hotel confirms your reservation. Is that the case? |
I have made a reservation in june with www.hotelplease.com in Hotel San Gil. Try their site, good luck!.
|
Yes, Myer, they do charge you in advance. I used them a year ago. That is the downside of most cheap internet rates. The good thing is they have availability when hotels are already booked to the public. |
Hi Myer,
Yes, hotelclub.net charged my card when the hotel confirmed availability. Olga, did you have any problems with them? I am thinking of using them to book for other towns. thanks |
Not at all, everything worked fine. But I do always call the hotel directly to reconfirm the reservation, get first hand directions if I'm driving and also to request bedtype, etc. I work at a hotel reception and I have seen cases when wholesaler reservations like these get messed up by the intermediary travel agencies or the hotel. Special requests sometimes get lost in the computerized process along the way and sometimes it's too late to fix it when you arrive. Also, since the rates are lower, the hotel normally gives the best rooms to top rate guests, but if you call or e-mail and nicely request a good room, you have more chances of getting it. |
A couple of other mid range alternatives in Santa Cruz [Plaza Invalidades]: Hostal del Laurel and Hotel Murillo.
|
Myer, Hotel Alcazar is reasonably priced and located just across the street from Barrio Santa Cruz. I stayed there last summer and enjoyed it. Have fun - I wish I was going!
