Seville - Bus Tours

Hello fodor travellers,
We are going to Seville early July and since it will be very hot, we would like to check the english bus tours that can do a city comprehensive guide.
That way we can see the whole city in one go and check the places we like later.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Sue

Hi Suenew,

If you head down to the banks of the Guadalquivir River, opposite the bullring & next to the Torre D'Oro, you'll find a couple of tour buses which will fit the bill.

I was only able to spend one day in Seville, but wish I could have stayed longer - it's a beautiful city & as you say, the tour bus is an excellent way to get an overview of the sights.

I took the bus tour last Fall and have to say it is NOT worth the time and money. The layout of Seville is such that you really don't get that close to the sites by road, the exception being the Spanish Plaza. And a large amount of time was wasted going through the now derelict Expo site. IMHO you're better off just getting out early/late to walk around. From what I remember the buses are not well air conditioned anyway.

Thank you so much Jim and Chris for your information.
It sounds like I don't need to reserve a head of time for the bus tour.
I also saw open air bus of hop-on-hop-off.
Has anyone tried it and is it good?

Thank you again for any helpful suggestions.
Sue

I spent most of my time in Sevilla in the Barrio Santa Cruz. Which is a warren of narrow streets mostly not negotiable by bus.

I am fairly certain I did not encounter any tour buses there, so if you want to see this charming neighborhood, you will have to do so on foot.

Hi Suenew - me again,

Just to clarify - in my earlier message I was referring to the open air "hop on - hop off" tour buses.

In retrospect, Chris is right about the Expo part of the route. Other than that, however, I would still recommend it.

Jim
