Sevilla Train Station after dark
 

This is my first post. I've searched through the archives, but didn't find anything on this.

Is it easy to get a taxi at the Sevilla Santa Justa Station? We will be arriving around 7:30 p.m. on a Monday in January, so it will be dark by then.

I don't think I was there at that time of night, but I might have been. IN any case, that is a very big and major train station, I can't imagine you'd have any trouble at that time, it's not like the middle of the night or anything. I don't think it being dark matters.

I agree with Cristina it is a huge train station.I have been there only during the day but for Spain 7.30PM is very early in the evenging they have dinner like at 10 PM. So there should be no problem, get a taxi and there should be no problem. The station is not that far from down town and a taxi should not be much, we never paid more than 7-9 euros.

7.30 is still the afternoon here! no problem.

Yep, it's very easy to get a taxi at any hour. Just walk out the main doors and take your pick. It's a very big, modern station, lot of amenities, etc.

The only time I was in Sevilla it was at a time of year when it was still quite bright out 'til late, but I agree with the above posts regarding safety.

My hotel was so close to the train station I never called a cab. But the train station is surrounded with important business hotels, so if you don't see a taxi rank, you can spot a big hotel and walk over there -- unless you are hauling gobs of luggage.

But even if it turns out to be hard to get a taxi, I'm not sure what the solution would be. I assume you need to get to Sevilla that day by train, and can't take an earlier one, si?

In Spain people are only going home from work at 7:30 - dinner is at 10 or later. And this is a central train station in a major city.

You will have no problem at all getting a taxi.

And I do know that 7:30 is "early" over there. This will be my first trip to Spain, but I've experienced the late dinners (by American standards) when I was in Argentina. My husband and I would get the first reservation possible (normally 9:00 p.m.), and we'd be the only ones in the restaurant for most of our meal!
