Gault and Carlton ceramic houses of Paris

I have a row of Provence buildings, but would like to purchase some of Paris when I'm there this spring. Does anyone know where I could purchase them? I found a website where I can buy them, but I prefer buying them in Paris for the memory.

Last time I was in Paris (5yrs), I saw them in 2 shops on rue de Rivoli, in the area where the corner of the Lourve meets the Tuilleries. No recollection if the prices were competative, but they are just darling! I have always regretted not buying a couple. A perfect reason to return to Paris, LOL!!!! Good luck!

Hi luvtotravel,
I was in Paris this past December and bought two( wish I had bought more!) J Carlton houses. I can't afford the 600+ euro Gault, and the Carltons are great souvenirs. I got them at a shop on rue de Rivoli almost directly across the street from the Tuileries metro. It was a small shop and I can't find the receipt with the name. But along that stretch of rue de Rivoli, there are several shops that carry J Carlton
houses.
Have a great trip!

Thanks all. It's the rue de Rivoli for me! I didn't buy the ones I saw in San Gimignano last year and still regret not picking up a few. I, too, need to buy Carlton as the Gault houses are too high priced for me - -mostly because of the dollar exchange.

I do remember that it was near Berthillon because we either had ice cream before or after.

Hope this helps

you can also get them in many of the souvenir shops near Notre Dame. I have bought them there and in numerous different shops on Rue Rivoli.

Last summer when I got home from Paris I received an email advertisement from Planet Gault (I'm on their mailing list due to previous purchases). I checked their prices and the memory I now have of buying in Paris in 2006 is that I spent more money in Paris than I would have if I had just ordered them online! (But it was more fun buying them in Paris )

When buying in Paris, just be sure that they say J. Carlton/ Dominique Gault on the bottom - there are some copies out there - not as detailed or pretty. The copies don't say anything on the bottom of the house.

I saw your message fodors.com about miniatures of gault.
I think you are very inrterested with this miniatures.

We have the best price around. Also the ceramics are quite difficult to find in Paris these days. Check the reason why here: http://www.planetgault.com/store.php?lg=en&h=0

We have a sale going on: 15% off on ceramics and 10% on J.Carlton.

Coupon code is: SPRING07

Enjoy!
