We were in Seville 3 years ago for New Years Eve. It was magical! The main square with the large clock tower is where everyone met. You must bring 12 grapes per person, and eat 1 with each dong of the clock! Everyone does it. It is for 12 months of good luck for the coming year. Champagne bottles will then be opened all over the square, and silly string, and fireworks will go off. Have a wonderful time!

Main square with clock tower? You sure you´re not thinking of the Plaza Mayor in Madrid? Otherwise, which plaza is this?

just back home from our trip.

It was Plaza do Sol in Madrid !!
We were in Sevilla where nothing special was planned for NY's Eve !
We went to Plaza de Spagna. All the lights were on as well as the water of the fountain. It was all for us ! We were completely alone, with our 2 kids running around the square while we were sitting on a bench. It was fantastic !
Then at 22.00 the guardian came to close the gate and we had to go away !

Main clock tower in Sevilla... Plaza Nueva. Rang in the new year there. Not quite Times´ Square, but lots of fun!
