Sevilla Feria de abril

Has anyone been to this? My husband and I can arrange to be in Sevilla on April 28th and 29th so I wondered if this was something really worthwhile. We are in our 50's and uninterested in "young people heavy drinking fairs" (although we did some back in the day ourselves)

I am told you will NOT find it as a "young people heavy drinking fairs" but I plan to experience it first time, this year.

No, you won't find that ...at least, not only young crowd :)

Seriously, it is more like a lot of private parties held on a public place, with a big promenade in the middle for you to see the ambiance (the people riding their horses wearing typical costumes) Also there's a big fair (a traditional one, for kids) , there are music concerts , bullfights every day..maybe you would like to go to the tourist office there for an schedule of the events held around Feria.

If you are planning to stay in Sevilla during the Feria, make sure you have secure hotel reservations. If you haven't yet done so, make your reservations now... despite the outrageous inflation of prices during Feria (and Semana Santa), most hotels will already be fully booked.

Hi Stotz,
I will also be in Seville during Feria. From what I have read, it is quite a site to see - I believe there are also parades & fireworks. Even if you are not invited into the casetas, I think it will be interseting just to walk around & take it all in.

Unfortunately ginto is correct - hotel prices are at least double from what they usually are - so I'm looking for some suggestions.

For now, I have booked the Casona de San Andres. Has anyone been here? It is located near Calle Campana & Calle Tarifa. What is this area like - is it safe & convenient?

I'm hoping to spend around 100E per night - which I know is alot to ask during Feria!

Any suggestions would be appreciated...
