dumb question <BR> <BR>Im booking at Hotel America in Granada and Las Casas de la Juderia in Sevilla <BR> <BR>What can I expect between a singe or double room--travelling with my girlfriend

Jason, Not sure what you are asking about what you can "expect"? Is this a price question? Las Casas de la Juderia is about $100 per night for a double room with breakfast...hint: in Spain, most "dobles" or doubles have what my husband and I call the "Ricky and Lucy Ricardo arrangement" that is, two single beds...if you want a "double bed" that sleeps two people you need to request a "matrimonio" and they are not as common as you think!!! Maybe your question needs more clarification to get a better answer...Maria

Also remember that in most countries in Europe you need to give then your passport to check-in - they return it to you later in the day; but it makes 'sneaking-in' 2 people in a single room unwise.

Just returned from Spain...visited both Granada and Sevilla. In Granada, we stayed in a great little hotel, the Truinfo. Booked on the internet for about $70 a night, it was well located, very nice large room with a balcony, extremely clean. One of the nicest hotels that we stayed in (and we stayed in much more expensive ones). <BR> In Sevilla, we stayed at the Tryp Colon. It was more expensive (an internet rate of around $150). A grand old style hotel, also well located, with very large room, huge bathroom (two rooms). Much less quaint than Las Casas de la Juderia, but a different experience. <BR> I should add that in both hotels we were able to get one large bed (but you do have to ask in Spain). <BR> <BR>JB

Addition: Forgot to mention that the Tryp Colon in Sevilla had breakfast included, and it was the best breakfast buffet that I have ever had in any hotel anywhere. Assortment of juices, assortments of different breads and meats, smoked salmon, various cheeses, eggs, several kinds of sausages, etc.

Jason - <BR> <BR>My husband and I stayed at both Hotel America and Las Casas de la Juderia on our trip in November. Definitely ask for a double room in each hotel. <BR>We loved Las Casas de la Juderia. From there, you can walk to most of the major sites. Lots to do nearby. We had a double room and it was very nice and spacious. The room had some ammenities - desk, comfortable chair, t.v., minibar, etc. <BR> <BR>The Hotel America was much smaller. Our room was very small and a bit cold too. The hotel is very quaint. I imagine it would be very nice in spring or summer months. But our room only had a bed and small table for a lamp. The perk with Hotel America was that it was right on the grounds of the Alahambra. From the Hotel America, you need to take the shuttle if you want to go into town, unless you want to tackle the very steep walk! The shuttle is about 75 cents a trip. Very easy to use. <BR> <BR>Enjoy your trip.
