Settlement check!

I got a check for $26. Anyone else? It's for the credit card and foreign currency conversion charges- I'd forgotten all about it and apparently it's not over yet!

Yes, my husband and I each received $20 checks today! We had given up. We had itemized our trips, but that doesn't seem to have mattered.

My husband got his 18.06 (?) check the other day. I'm still waiting for mine.

crckwc1 Jan 26th, 2012 01:37 PM

Yes! DH and I each got a check for $26.59 yesterday. I'm really surprised!

chapla Jan 26th, 2012 01:38 PM

Be careful-I almost threw it away as junk mail! It doesn't come in an envelope-just a pullapart w/perforation.

MmePerdu Jan 26th, 2012 01:40 PM

Indeed! $33.07!

bocacpa Jan 26th, 2012 02:07 PM

About 2 weeks ago: $18.04 each for wife and me. Had thought that payout was sometime last year and that we had missed out.

Much better than nothing!

I had given up, too, but about 2-3 weeks ago I got a check for 18.04. When I deposited it at the bank, the teller said they'd been seeing lots of them lately, same amount!

There have been at least 3 other threads about this. Two in the Lounge and one here on Europe. Folks started receiving checks in October and they have been trickling out ever since. Most have been for $18.04 -- to those who chose option B.

But some (option C folks) have received very large checks. Over $1000.

So far no one who used option A have reported getting anything.

We took Option 2 and I received $30.16 and my husband about $19. A couple of weeks ago. We could have gotten $25. Each without all the work of going back and trying to honestly answer the estimates.

"<i>We could have gotten $25. Each without all the work of going back and trying to honestly answer the estimates.</i>"

Not likely. The option A ($25) folks haven't received anything yet. All the payouts are being prorated from the final settlement amount minus legal fees/costs. So many applied for the settlement that $18.04 is all the option B folks are getting (I did B and had over 200 days overseas during the covered periodand pocketed the same $18 bucks)

Look for the threads in the Lounge - one has been going for ages and there is lots of info about the final disposition.

Sorry-I never go into the Lounge-too many non-travel related posts! I thought this was appropriate here because it is related to purchases using foreign currency transactions.

This is an old Europe thread that was topped when folks started receiving the payments last Fall.
