This hotel is mentioned quite often in this forum. The BBC is reporting a major fire on the premises early this morning, tragically leading to at least 2 fatalities. Looks like the hotel will be out of action for some time due to the extensive damage.

Terrible to see the loss of life.

Cameron House had become a flag ship for our mass market high end tourist market. Hope we don't lose it this summer.

I never have and never will, own a hotel for this reason, the duty of care is too much for me to comprehend.

The photos are showing a ton of damage. So early in the morning, many were probably still in bed. Very blessed more were not hurt. Booking.com is showing four bookings today.
