Serenade in the Chateau of Versailles--worth it?

Jump to last reply

We will visit Versailles on our upcoming trip to France, on a Saturday, to see the Grandes Eaux Musicales. I see that there is also an event called Serenade at the Chateau, which lasts 45 minutes, and they offer combined tickets for both events. Has anyone seen it and what was your opinion?

We will need to kill some time between 6:30 pm, when the Chateau closes (the gardens will close at 5:30 pm), and 9pm when the evening event starts. We can have dinner, of course, but if the Serenade is something we shouldn't miss, we will do both. We plan to see the Chateau in late afternoon, after touring the gardens. So if I book tickets for 6:45pm and we finish the tour of the Chateau right before it closes at 6:30 pm, it means going back inside pretty much immediately after seeing it. We'll do it if the dancing and music are good. I have found lots of reviews for the evening Musicales in the gardens but not for the Serenade. Please tell me about your impression if you have seen it. Thanks a lot for sharing your opinions.
