Chatham--Of course Floridians are invited. Heck, anyone who wants to come is more than welcome:)

Tdyls--I'm afraid this will likely be an afternoon event, but who knows maybe it will become a day into night thing! I'm going to call places that are accessible from MARTA and have hotels nearby. Gwinnett, unfortunately, isn't on the train line.

Prizen--If you email me, I'll add you to the distro list and keep you in the loop (and anyone else, please email me if you think you might come!!)

RobynFrance--Me thinks you need to change your nick to RobynGreece this year. hehehe

I wish I could come but I'll be getting back from my Greece/Amsterdam trip on Sept.18 If you ever plan a second one I'll certainly plan on being there.

Dear OneWanderingJew, Should we maybe plan for a later date so those who will be out of the country on the 17th can come? I was looking at Buckhead hotels and wow, the prices. I'll get a taxi from Emory Conf. Center to the GTG. Also, to firm up everything I must talk to my daughter when she's back from Greece. My Best, Joan

Chatham,
Perhaps someone would like to plan a 2nd gathering but there are plenty of us to hold one on Sept. 17th. I think we have close to 30 people who said they are coming or hope to come!

I'm not sure what a cab from Emory to Buckhead would cost but if you want to get a nice hotel for cheap, try priceline. Friends have gotten rooms at the Grand Hyatt and the brand new Intercontinental for $65-85/night which is a fabulous rate for such great hotels.

Just something to think about :)

I've wondered when someone would organize a GTG for the ATL. Unfortunatly, I will be in Las Vegas celebrating a momentous birthday.

Doubt you want a postcard from Vegas, but I am going to Hungary the next week and can send one if you like.

OneWanderingJew Aug 2nd, 2005 10:37 AM

Actually Widget, I still need a Nevada postcard for my bulletin board. Do you think a tasteful one could be found in Vegas or that you will even have a moment in the revelry to pick one up for me?? And if I'm not being too demanding, would you please get one for me in Hungary?

Sorry you're going to miss the GTG! Have a fabulous bday and wonderful trips!!

OWJ ~ do you need one from Idaho? DH and I could get you one from there in three weeks. Also, we have Italy coming up (not fast enough, ha) in January, do you need a postcard al Italia?

:) T.

OneWanderingJew Aug 2nd, 2005 12:02 PM

Hey there Tiff!
Yes, to Idaho, no to Italy--how many people have said that before?!

I'm not losing it (that happened long ago) but have Italian postcards on the way. I just wish I could've gone back to get them myself...boo hoo... Guess I'll just have to live through you and Mr. Tiff! OWJ2 and I love, loove, looove Italy and at least 2x/wk talk about when we're going back!

Thanks for getting me the Idaho card, you lucky traveler, you! Now I know why you're missing out on the Atlanta GTG!

OWJ-
I'll e-mail you to get the address...and write myself a reminder in my calendar.

As far as tasteful in Vegas...I'll be sure to search every casino even if it takes me hours and hours. Now, I'll have an alibi when my friends ask me where I've been for so long...

Nice Widget--just tell them you were providing random acts of kindness to strangers :)

Anyone else interested in coming on Sat., Sept. 17th?? Look for a message in the next couple of days announcing the venue.
