Sentiment in Italy re: coronavirus

I have a trip coming up to Rome/Bologna next month and am wondering how the sentiment is like with regards to the coronavirus outbreak. Specifically, as an Asian-American, I am more concerned if there are any negative sentiments towards Asians in general that would ruin the experience there. Is there anyone who have insights on this?

One month is a long time. Who knows what will happen.

There are always some idiots in the world no matter the situation.

My take on reading Italian news is that while there were a few incidents by the usual idiots when the pandemic stories broke, things have settled down now. This appeared in one news source today,
"Political solidarity Italy's president Sergio Mattarella recently visited a primary school with a large Chinese population in the Esquilino area of Rome, in a show of solidarity with the capital's Chinese residents who are complaining of a drastic fall-off in business at their shops and businesses. Rome mayor Virginia Raggi also paid a visit to a Chinese restaurant in the Esquilino quarter - known as the capital's Chinatown - while the mayor of Florence Dario Nardella recently posted a video of himself hugging a group of Italo-Chinese residents of the Tuscan city."

I think that Bologna and Rome get so many visitors of Asian heritage that you will feel welcomed.

We have a small number of Chinese immigrants in our town. I've seen some of them at a bar or restaurant in the past week, and no one whipped out a face mask.
