I am not a Disneyland person, but I really don't think that it is good to try to talk people out of their plans. I know two people in Paris who actually have the annual pass and who love going there at least ten times a year, and I would never tell them that they are wasting their time. I also know people with Louvre passes, and guess what -- one of them is one of the people with a Disneyland pass. Some people enjoy Disneyland and can go on Pirates of the Carribean, Space Mountain or the Rock'n'Roller Coaster ten times in a row. I respect that. I will not shoot such people down.

I have an annual passport. I like Disneyland, despite its poor management. I don't understand why people have a problem with visiting it. Kids, in particular, love the park. I loved it more when it was properly maintained and had good food, but it's still the best around even today (Parc Asterix is in second place as local parks go).

I wasn't trying to talk the OP out of going - just that I don't think it is necessarily worth 3 days. Having been to DL Anaheim many times I really enjoyed visiting the Paris park. Wrote a bit about it in my trip report. http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34786168 Definitely worth a day.

Now, if they have been to Paris before and DL is mostly what they are interested in - then sure, spend 3 days there. But yildy hasn't really told us one way or the other.

Just thought I'd add a note about visiting DLP. We have kids and it was great. We loved the fact that the park was small and not as large as Orlando. Another great thing was by 5pm- 5:30pm everyone went home, and we just walked on the rides. No lines. So stay long enough to enjoy the no lines. A friend had the same experience with lines as well.
Have a great trip.

Thanks for all opinions. We will for sure go with the choice of making Paris as a base for full 5 days, visit Disney and if needed we can re-visit 2nd or even a 3rd time. We are visiting Paris for the first time, any recommendations on hotel near shopping areas..............Rgds

yildy, if you are interested in shopping, there is a fairly new mall and designer outlet center just a few step from the RER station. If you are "committed shoppers" you could spend hours there, it's like a retail theme park :-). You could even book a hotel room in that area to crash after your day at DLP, visit the La Vallee to shop then head into Paris. Mind you, what you will find in the mall is pretty standard retail fare, and the prices in the designer outlet village next door are definitely reduced from the list price, but still can be steep. Just a thought...
