senior citizens concessions

Leaving for our driving holiday in France in a couple of weeks,I see concession prices for young people under eighteen to museums etc., no mention of oldies. Does anyone know if it applies to over sixty five ?

It may very well depend in some instances if you are a citizen or not.

Concessions which are government-sponsored will not be offered to non-citizens.
Commercial discounts will probably to offered to anyone who can prove their age.
I have been to France with my mother, and discounts vary: some bus companies, for example, offer a big discount, while others offer nothing.
There's no harm in asking.

Hi; When in Europe, including France, we ask for a 'senior discount' whenever we pay to get into an event. Many times, a discount is only given to European Union citizens. But always ask, put your countries driver license on the counter and see what happens. More times than not, we get a discount. Dick

When I was traveling with my mother in France I would ask for the senior ticket for her and always received the senior price. I find it never hurts to ask for the discount. There was never anything on the ticket price cards that specified that the senior price was for EU citizens only.
