Self-guided tour packages in Ireland

Hi all, Wondering if anyone can tell me the name of the company that offers a package of b&b coupons & car rental for self-guided travel in Ireland &/or Scotland? Thanks!

Might I suggest that this is not the best way to go? In Ireland, the best B&B coupon is the banknote -- accepted in all B&Bs.

I take it you're not looking for air and land packages. If it's just car and B&Bs, you'll probably be better off just renting a car going to Town & Country (http://www.townandcountry.ie) to find accommodations (they have a nice catalog if you prefer hardcopy).

Here's an article on some B&B resources

Natalie:

I agree with Padraig and Corey. None-the-less, here are a few companies:

CIE is related to the national transit organization (trains, bus etc). They are: http://tinyurl.com/23x8kf

Again, it usually works out to be cheaper to do it yourself and you get more options of where to stay.

I have to agree on going the book your own. You will find it is more cost effective to plan & book everything yourself. You didn't indicate when you are planning trip. Vouchers in the Spring & Fall are not needed and in the Summer high season can leave you in a bind, as B&Bs book up quickly.

If the thought of planning everything on your own is overwhelming, Michele at www.irelandyes.com will draw up an itinerary for you.

You will also find a lot of help here on this board. Just post tentative dates, areas you want to see and into which airport you want to fly and we will try to help you as best we can.

B&B vouchers really aren't that useful.

1) they don't help you plan your itinerary - you still have to work out the details on your own
2) they don't guarantee you a room - only that IF a room is available it is already paid for
3) a place that takes vouchers will also take cash or credit cards -- but a place that takes cash/credit/cards won't necessarily take vouchers.
