Self-catering Lot/Dordogne
 

We’re considering a gite in the Bouriane area called Le Fenil, located in Lavayssiere and not far from Gourdon. Finding any so-called testimonials or client reviews is proving quite the task. Has anyone stayed with these folks? It is a fabulous sounding converted barn and looks ideal. Info on it and/or general traveler experience-tips for the area will be most welcome.

Is the gîte associated with any group such as Gîtes de France? If so, do you mistrust the group's rating system? I, for one, have never found a B&B within the rating range that I choose to be unacceptable upon arrival.

Michael, thanks for the reply. Certainly we would be pleased to take a rating into consideration, but didn’t find the property listed with Gites de France. Can you suggest any other ratings source? Our searches so far haven’t found one.

When it comes to the Dordogne, my input is somewhat theoretical as I have my own place.
