Self-Catering in County Kent
Can someone provide good sources for reasonably priced self-catering cottages accomodating 4 in County Kent England for early April 2003?

Garden of England Cottages www.gardenofenglandcottages.co.uk This is a VERY well run agency with many houses, flats and cottages in all parts of Kent and East Sussex. All sizes and price ranges. Studios to 5+ bedrooms, £200 - £800+. <BR><BR>You can view most of their places on the website and they also have a good catalog.

BTW, it's just "Kent". We don't add "county" add the beginning as they do in the Republic of Ireland.

Adams, JTW is right. Saying "County Kent" is a bit like saying "State Texas".

I live in Kent, and have never heard it said 'county kent' I think ppl here would think you were talking about somewhere in Ireland. There are loads of B&Bs in and around Kent, too many to mention. Whenever I stay at a B&B in this country, I always try to get a 'Highly Commended' or Deluxe recommendation by the english Tourist Board (which is always stated when booking). Anything less than that may be a bit tired or not quite so clean (I am saying this tentatively, as I am sure there are exceptions).

Sorry about adding the redundant "county."<BR><BR>Note that it is Self-catering, not B&B, that we are looking for.<BR><BR>Thanks for your replies.

Just providing an option for you to consider.

picking up on B and B's - We stayed at Church Gates Cranbrook Kent , which is 3 miles from Sissinghurst (if you like gardens you will adore Sissinghurst). Church Gates is not listed by the England tourist board but was really good- a beautiful historic house overlooking the churchyard. I asked why they wern't withthe tourist board and they said that they needed to fix up the outside of the house first! They have a web site at http://www.churchgates.com
