Self catering cottage Killarney area
 

Can anyone recommend a self catering cottage for 4 people in the Killarney area? We are looking for 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin--or the like that has 3 different beds). We are planning on being there the end of March, beginning of April.

Any help would be appreciated!

Bob - to answer your questions...
We are looking for a good base to be able to do the Ring of Kerry area, Dingle Peninsula, Cork, Kinsale, and Cobh. Haven't really thought about a budget - of course would prefer not to spend too much, but don't want a dump either.

This will be everyone's first trip to Ireland, so want to do a bunch, but don't want to over do it (I am traveling w/ 3 seniors who are in good shape, but don't want to push it).

One week, or two?
Killorglin, Killarney or Kenmare (or any of the villages close by, like Fossa, Beaufort, etcetera) would be good choices for the ROK, Killarney and Dingle. I would 'bite the bullet' and plan on using a B&B stay of 1 or 2 nights to see Kinsale, Cork and Cohb. They are a bit far for a daytrip. A B&B for the four of you will run between 120 and 160 Euro (about $150-200) per night while a weekly self catering will be about 3-500 Euro, plus utilities (usually metered), depending on ammenities and location.
Co-incidentally, my wife and I are arriving Shannon on 31 March and leaving from there on 9 April, but I'm looking at West Cork, in the general vicinity of Mizen Head and Sheep's Head. Most self-catering houses will be three bedroom, and are typically set up as one double and two twins.
My best recommendation would be to search the Tourist Board site.
Pick a day with good weather and drive down the N22 through Macroom to Cork and Cohb and end the day in Kinsale. It gets dark fairly early and you probably won't want to drive after dark. Tour Kinsale the next day and enjoy the restraunts and pubs that night. In the morning, drive to Bantry and follow the road north through Glenngarriff and Kenmare (Caha Pass, Moll's Gap and Ladies View).
