Selcuk vs. Kusadasi vs. Sirence
 

We will be in Turkey in September, and had planned to stay 3 nights in Selcuk as a base for that part of the Aegean coast/Ephesus (we will have a rental car). We had made a reservation at Hotel Kalehan in Selcuk, which sounded nice. But two friends of ours who traveled separately to Turkey in the 1990s think that Selcuk is boring and urge us to stay in Kusadasi instead. Someone else has suggested that we consider Sirence.

Which do you think is the best choice? If other than Selcuk, which hotel would you recommend.

I reply your question here before BUT my post DELETED I do not know why. I think there were something wrong. Anyway, I recommend you go to SIRINCE nice small town, there is no nightlife like SELCUK but you can feel Turkihs and Greek likfe style there and if you love WINE you can get the one of the BEST WINE in Turkey

Where would you stay in Sirence? Does it take any longer to drive in from places in the Aegean coast area where we will be going for day trips?

I had the same question a month or two back. Because I wanted to be on the water, I am opting for Kusadasi but am going out of my price range to hopefully have a peaceful stay at

Yes if you want SEA you can stay in KISMET HOTEL in Kusadasi.

If you go to NISANYAN's web page you can get some information about SIRINCE. Sirince to Ephesus only takes 10-15 minutes by car or to sea takes 30-40 minutes
