Seine river cruise help
 

My husband and I are heading to Paris on September 15th for our honeymoon and are looking for recommendations on Seine River cruises at dusk. Any ideas on company's with smaller boats, not the large 350-550 ones? Also can you bring your own champagne on? Thank you all!

My husband and I are taking this next week. Pricey, but very romantic.

Why not just get on the boat that leaves from the Pont Neuf. Bring your champagne and take a seat somewhere less crowded--or not crowded at all. It is a bit late--we have been on boats with very few. Save your money for another romantic moment. ;o)

Per Gretchens advice, we like the Vedettes du Pont Neuf. I believe if you print tickets in advance, there is a discount.

I took the Bateaux Parisiens small boat tour which is on the Right Bank quai in front of Notre Dame. I enjoyed it. This is their website with directions

I don't really remember anyone having bottles of champagne, but don't know their rules. I think you are envisioning something a bit more luxurious than these boats are, and the seating arrangements. I'm sure you can't drink a bottle of champagne in an hour, either, although I guess they have those small ones.

Why not enjoy your champagne at your leisure, instead of being elbowed by selfie-happy tourists who will stop at nothing to get a good photo? The cruise only lasts one hour, including boarding and debarking - why rush a good thing?

Both companies have a sort of snack bar set up, including some airplane-size bottles of alcohol - so it's permitted to take drinks onboard, but we've never seen anyone board with a large bottle of anything, plus glasses, etc. I don't think this is encouraged, since they don't have much time to clean up and board the next group.

There are two different docks - if you go at night, the better choice is bateaux parisiens, which docks right near the Eiffel Tower. You could find a nice spot on the Champ de Mars and enjoy your champagne before or after the cruise. The boats are larger here, though.

Vedettes du Pont Neuf docks adjacent to Square du Vert Galant - this is a popular place for romantically-minded people. The boats aren't guaranteed to be small, but your chances are better with this company.

We took Vedettes du Ponte Neuf last year. It was O.K. but did not circle the Isle de la Cite. Boat was very crowded with selfie-snapping tourists, all of whom arrived and departed in big tour busses.

Then you missed us!! We've done it every time. They will also sell you a bottle at the snack bar for an ooutrageous sum, so bring your own.
