MY HUSBAND AND I WILL BE IN PARIS NEXT MONTH. I NEED SOME FEED BACK ON THE BATEAUX PARISIENS DINNER CRUISE( OR ANY DINNER CRUISE.) IS IT THE BEST WAY TO SEE THE THE ILLUMINATED RIVERBANK BUILDINGS? IS THE MEAL WORTH THE PRICE? COULD WE HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE BY EATING AT A RECOMMENDED RESTAURANT AND TAKING A STROLL ALONG THE SEINE? WE HAVE FOUR NIGHTS OF DINNERS TO PLAN SO ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE HELPFUL. ALSO, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THE JULES VERNE RESTAURANT AT THE EIFFEL TOWER? THANKS!!

We did it but it was years ago. At that time the food wasn't memorable but we lovd it, there was live music and very friendly fun group on board and the light shining on the banks of the river on lovers..and.. was sometimes worth a laugh. A first time and only time experience is always remembered.

No.

And yes. If you want to take a nighttime Seine cruise (and I recommend doing so), do one without the dinner. I personally like the Bateaux du Pont Neuf.

I would not take a dinner cruise. The food is overpriced and mediocre. Take a twilight cruise, then go have a lovely dinner in a restaurant.

All Cap messages are also hard to read.

The dinner cruises aren't worth the money. Take a plain cruise (or one of the ones offering cocktails) and have a good dinner on land.

(My husband is an all-capper...I think because he doesn't "really" type and this way he avoids having to stop and see the shift key.)

Nik-haven't done a dinner personally, but anyone I've talked to who had thought the food was just okay for the price. Some also require suit coat and tie-- sometimes we prefer to travel lighter sans a coat he'll never wear except to one or two dinners.

I, too, am a big fan of the Pont Neuf Vedettes--smaller, more personal than the really big bateaux mouches (IMO)

I would recommend taking the Pont Neuf Vedettes and then doing dinner. Go to their web site and download a coupon for 2 Euro discount.

This cruise is a BYOB, takes about 1 1/2 hours. Bring a bottle of wine, some bread & cheese, and enjoy the cruise. ((b))

It's difficult to see the sights if you are eating. More fun to take the cruise and eat later (or earlier depending on taste).

If you don't like dealing with the shift key, the polite way to deal with it in cyberspace is to type all lower case. Most teenagers do this . . . to the sorrow of their English teachers because they also do it in term papers!
