Seine Cruise
Hi,
I have a questions regarding Paris Seine Tour. I read in one forum that this is a good site to buty tickets: http://vedettesdupontneuf.com/home/ I think I can buy the ticket and go at ANY TIME on the date I bought the ticket for. Is that correct? Isn't it possible that there is a long queue , at the time I reach there, especially in evenings? Thanks, |
You can buy tickets online and they are good for a year (I think) from the date of purchase. i bought tickets on line this past spring and used them in Apriil. It was nice knowing that we didn't have to buy tickets for a specific date and could wait until we were in Paris to decide when to use them.

We just went & bought our tickets shortly before the cruise departed - we timed it so we would see the Eiffel Tower lit up.
Maybe it depends what time of year you are planning to visit Paris? Di |
If you buy advance tickets, you don't stand in the regular ticket line, but go right up to the window - there's a sign indicating where to go from there.
Since you can use these at any time, you should go when it's not raining. The evening cruise is very lovely, when the bridges and monuments are illuminated, and much better than the daytime cruise. The Eiffel Tower will be illuminated a little after sunset - you can Google sunset times during the dates you'll be in Paris. The ET "sparkles" only for 5 minutes at the top of the hour after sunset, so it's almost impossible to plan to see this from the boat. Better to go stand in front of the ET and enjoy it from that viewpoint. |
YOu can buy the tickets online for a discount. We like just at dusk so that the lights are just beginning to come on in the buildings along the way and the Tower is lit up. "Twinkling" is OK--personally I wouldn't make it a destination unless it fit my schedule. Dusk in the summertime is very late.

There may be a long queue to get onto the boat, there is no way to solve that when the cruise companies don't reserve particular times/seats. So you won't have to get in a line to buy a ticket, but on the boat I took, there is still a long line and you have to get there early if you want a good seat on the boat. Because the seats aren't reserved. The line to buy the ticket was no problem but of course, it's convenient to have the ticket in advance.

I always get my coupon on line and get the discount. I've been at least six times in Spring, Summer and Fall. It's one of the things we like to do with friends who are in Paris for the first time.
