Segovia or Toledo Daytrip

Which of these daytrips would you reccomend from Madrid if you only visited one? Also, Do I need to book train tickets in advance for a Mid May trip?

Both of these options are stupendous! I suppose that there are more "sights" to see in Toledo, so if you have to choose only one, I am guessing that most people will advise Toledo. I loved Segovia, however. Perhaps you could tell us more about your interests...

The food in Segovia is world class.

I like both cities, but you really should go to Toledo for the architecture and to see El Greco's "The Burial of Count Orgaz" at the church of Santo Tome.

I think it's a matter of preference. Of the two I prefer Segovia.

Both are great. There's more to see/do in Toledo IMO. You should buy your train tix in advance as they do sell out. Do a search here for Toledo as many have asked same Q recently regarding train tix to Toledo.

Best booking/buying the train tickets in advance. In the ticket hall at the Atocha train station there are automatic vending machines where you can purchase tickets on the AVE - that is the high speed train that serves both cities.

Tough choice.

I loved both Toledo and Segovia. I agree that there is more to see and do in Toledo, and it is what I'd recommend.

But, if you need to know why I love Segovia... I loved Segovia for the Roman aqueduct in the middle of town, the beautiful castle, Alcazar, and the Cathedral.
