Not exactly a travel question but....I am looking for a gift for someone who has just returned from Florence...any suggestions on a good book with Florence as it's backgraound.....<BR>Thank you

I do not know whether it has been trslated in English, but Leonardo Gori wrote a good noir novel taking place during the Fascism period. The Italian title is "Nero di maggio". Leonardo Gori is a writer and a pharmacist, he lives and works in Florence.

Before we went to Florence I brought my boyfriend "A room with a view". If you search in the right stores, you can get the one with a photo on the cover of the view over Florence and the Duomo. The book itself is, I'm told, very apt when you've been to Florence...
