Seeking private or small group tour guides in Andalusia Spain

Two of us are making our first trip to Spain, leaving on May 14, 2013. We'll be mainly in Andalusia: Sevilla, Córdoba, and Granada. We are considering using private tour guides or small group tours within the cities, especially through the former Jewish quarters, to complement our independent sightseeing.

Can you recommend guides and/or agencies for these cities? Many thanks in advance.

It may be a little late to find a private guide (Antonio Doblas is one of the best), but you may be able to join a small group if you visit the tourist offices in Sevilla, Cordoba and Granda. If you don't already have tickets to the Alhambra, there may not be any available when you're there.

Some sources you can check:

if you can get tickets, do do the evening tour of the Alhambra as well as the day-time one.

the Alhambra at night is magical.

that's good news, Ron.

if you enjoy it [and who could fail to do so] you'll probably enjoy the alcazar in Seville too, which although not as extensive, is also very beautiful.

Loved this Granada guide, fluent in English. I've recommended him to others who have been equally pleased:

Juan Cobo:

The guide for our tour, Jaen Native Juan Cobo, was superlative. He also works as a private guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone wishing a private tour in the Granada area. His English is perfect. Not only did he give us an excellent tour, but he was more than willing to discuss local food and offered us quite a few tips for tapas, along with recipes, and lengthy discourses about Andalucian food in general. Juan can be reached at:
