Seek Marais Bistro Info.

We arrive in Paris on May 23.

Does anyone know if the original Le Pamphlet in the Marais has reopened?

Also, please give one or two restaurant/bistro recommendations in the Marais/Ile St. Louis area. Price range 50 euros for two without wine. From your personal experience, please, no e-mail lists.

Thanks.

Hi P, someone (can't remember name) reported back about a week ago that Le Pamphlet was still shut.
I, too, would like to go in late June.
Apparently, Le Petit Pamphlet is also good.

We really enjoyed the Nicholas Flammel restaurant in the Marais district. We ate there in February. We had the testing menu, but alot of other dishes were on the menu which would fit in your price range. Halls Beer Hall was also great, but not a french bistro. We walked to Halls every night to watch the people and drink beer. It is listed as one of the top ten places in Europe to drink beer.

I ate in Le Petit Pamphlet last fall; it is very good and you must reserve in advance. If you want to read about the meal we had, look at my trip report; scroll down toward the end to get to Paris.

I've had luck just walking in the area to pick a restaurant. If you can't get reservations, you might try that.

Anthony, someone told me that it is still under construction. I heard there had been a flood there.

Thanks, Mimi and other respondents.

Yes, Le Petit Pamphlet is excellent and we will return there this time.

Incidentally, we are glad we have AC in both Paris and Provence in late May. We have purposely shied away from summer months' travel because of long term rising temperatures.
