Thanks to everyone who has responded to my post. We have now decided on 2 days in Venice, 7 days in Tuscany and 2 days in Rome. In Tuscany we would like to visit Siena, Florence & Cinque Terre. Please, any suggestions on hotels in Venice, Rome & apartment or villa or hotel in Tuscany area that will be central to visiting Siena, Florence, Cinque Terre. Thanks to you all for your help.

My sister stayed at this beautiful place outside of San Gimignano. They have apartments and rooms.

My husband and I along with two other couples are planning a trip to Rome, Florence and Venice in October. We are looking for moderate priced hotels that include bathrooms in the rooms and are centrally located. Prefer the Spanish Steps area but open to suggestions. Would also like suggestions in Florence and Venice. Thank you.

Welcome to Fodors!

While the title of this thread states your concerns well, because the original dates were a year ago, some might not read all the way through to your question. Also, your question is common one, since many first-time Italy visitors do visit the "big three"--Rome, Florence, and Venice.

I suggest you first search here for those places, and then start your own new thread with a title like "3 Couples need help with Rome, Florence, and Venice." Also, be clear about the price range you mean by "moderate." Different people have different ideas about that.

We would love to help you, answer any questions, and provide suggestions. You can keep asking questions on the same thread you start.

if you come to South i can give you some suggestions for Tropea and Capo Vaticano area and Eolie Islands.
In case you come at the end of october you can see olive harvest and taste the bruschetta with the new olive oil.
Have a nice trip
