seeing Italy and Spain

We're planning a trip to Europe April 21-28. On Thursday and Friday the 27th and 28th we have to be in Barcelona. We'd like to see some of Italy also. We'd consider flying into Rome one the 21st and out of Barcelona on the 28th. Any suggestions?

Doing the area between Rome and Barcelona in 7 days is too much. I did this route by train a few years ago in one month and still felt like I missed too much.

You need to fly from Italy to Spain. Plain and simple. www.europebyair.com or www.virgin-express.com if other more conventional flight options are too expensive.

Best wishes,

Rex
You can definitely see both cities in a week. I suggest 4 days in Rome and 3 days in Barcelona. You will have to fly but I don't think the tickets are that much. If I recall correctly, the flight is about 2.5 hours.

Relevant to the current debate on Italy VERSUS Spain. See both!
Seems like there was a thread about a cheap non-stop flight from Italy to somewhere in Spain. Barcelona? Venice? does anyone remember this post?
