Oh, by the way. Here's a good thread you might want to read. It was one started by your sister, Squeak 2 years ago and is almost identical to this one. Have you talked with your sister? Maybe she's the one who could help you, since she's already been down this same road.

You might also ask her about the beautiful apartment they stayed in on Ile St. Louis that she felt was wonderful but they probably paid too much for. Sounded wonderful.

It sounds like you and your sister's taste run very similar since she voiced the exact same distaste for the Paris Perfect apartments that you did. So you might like their Ile St. Louis apt.

NeoPatrick, you took the words right out of my mouth. Couldn't have said it/asked it better myself.
Wonder what the motivation was for this post?

Of course now I'll probably be accused of "attacking" an innocent first time poster who was sincerely looking for information. Please note I have not suggested anything so "horrible" as the idea that these two sisters could actually be one person or that we have been "played a fool" by either (both?) of them. I'm only suggesting that since the two sisters seem to have identical tastes and have posted virtually identical requests that perhaps they talk to each other about what the other has found out. Especially since the other sister did once mention that they had found a fantastic but expensive place on Ile St. Louis, that sounds like it might be just what the other sister is looking for. That post wasn't really a report, only a side commment when Squeak posted a question about why people prefer apartments to hotels. So it seems one of the best sources of information might be from the sister herself. That is if the one isn't too upset at the other for "not signing her out" on her own computer and posting under the wrong name!

Meanwhile perhaps Squeak is mad at us all? For the past couple of years she has asked dozens of good questions -- often with a lot of discussion back and forth -- looking for high end places in a couple of countries. She has posted about numerous wonderful upcoming trips and sought out places to stay and things to do, but try as I might I can't find a single trip report or a single return after any of those trips to tell us how our help turned out.

Squeak and Weebles sound like a sideshow attraction anyway. Perhaps they are Siamese twins?

Still, I am wondering why this post from "Weebles" who obviously had all the resources neccessary to answer his or her own question.

If the real Squeak is around somewhere can you enlighten us as to your sibling's post. For your future credibility you may want to come forward.

Now, I also wonder how many "other" siblings Squeak may have.

According to the thread where they were looking for a similar very luxurious Paris apartment for their parents, Squeak has two brothers and one sister, but since Weebles accidentally didn't sign out Squeak (her sister) yesterday when posting and the one post came up as Squeak's rather than Weebles', they must share a computer, so I'd think they'd be close enough to talk -- right?
And although this was Weebles' first post ever on Fodor's (as she told us), she is obviously very familiar with Fodor's because she even mentioned that she realizes she is the "minority" here regarding ParisPerfect -- so although she is posting for the first time, it seems she has spent considerable time "lurking" here (as some people call it).

Wow---chill people. Talk about trying to stir the pot NeoPatrick! You make it sound as if weíve committed the ultimate deception against everyone here and weíre never to be trusted again! Keep in mind, this is a travel website so thereís no conspiracy going on! Weíre not leaking secrets to government agencies here. Sheesh! My sister posted a question and then looked on my computer to see if anyone had answered. I donít log out of Fodorís when Iím on my home computer, do most of you? Doesnít anyone have 2 people in their home who both have multiple accounts on this website? If so, do you share a computer? Maybe your spouse, SO or room-mate forgot to log you out? OMGóI canít even believe Iím dignifying this post with a response! Geez, even if we were the same person, which is a scary thought, please tell me what harm has been done for goodness sake?

NeoPatrick, I hate your accusatory tone but, Iíll answer. My sister travels a lot for work. She also stays in some very nice hotels but, apparently she feels sheís missing something by not staying in an apartment in Paris. People do glamorize the whole thing so she wants to have the experience. Yes, personally I think she and her SO should stay in a hotel but, she doesnít want to. So who am I to argue? And finally, given the research Iíve previously done on apartments in Paris, I can attest to the fact that many rental websites offer the same apartment at different prices and some are substantially higher than others!

Hereís an example:
http://www.vrbo.com/19351 this apartment is listed for $200EU per night for 6+ nights and on http://www.parisluxeapt.com/apt_vangogh.htm itís $2899 USD per week. The apartment thru VRBO is over $900 less per week.

NeoPatrick, I read thru your many posts in this thread and you havenít offered one helpful suggestion. If youíre not inspired to help, what use is your post other than to get others all wound up over nothing? Your tone is clearly accusatory so if you have nothing of value to offer the OP, then donít bother to post! If youíre so skeptical of the person whoís asking the question, then donít answer. Move on! You certainly didnít help anyoneóthatís for sure!

Wow. Talk about chill, Squeak. There was nothing accusatory about my tone -- whatever are YOU talking about? Name one thing I've said which isn't factual information taken directly from either your sister's or your own posts? Please -- I'll wait for your reply.

When I got ready to post helpful information, I did a search for high end apartments, which I assumed a new poster wouldn't have done. The very first thing I found was your post from 2 years ago, filled with perfect information for your sister. My main goal was to suggest that you've already been down this road so perhaps you could help. You originally said the same thing about staying in luxury hotels and you wanted a high end one instead -- now I THINK you've done that, so what about that apt. you did on Ile St. Louis. Have you suggested it to Weebles? I AM trying to be helpful, but I was surprised when my search for more high end rental sites led to YOU. You should be as much an expert as anyone else here, after your searches both for your parents and for yourself.

But I'm still very much confused especially since you also confirm that the apartment Weebles really likes might be available for her price of $7000 instead of the "way out of her range" $8900. So is that the direction to pursue or not -- especially since there seems to be a consensus that the ParisLuxe site is way overpriced?

As to "stirring the pot", how can I do that if there is no pot to stir? Read my posts -- I haven't accused anyone of anything, but now it seems someone has a guilty conscience? Whatever for? And I cannot imagine why suggesting that Weebles check with her own sister with whom she shares a computer about the apartment her sister (you) has rented in the past isn't helpful, I sure don't know what is! What on earth about that suggestion is NOT helpful?

Now read carefully once again since you said I haven't offered any helpful suggestion:

Weebles loves an apartment listed on the ParisLuxe site for $8900. Her price limit is $7000. I suggest she look for that apartment on other sites and if she is able to find it for the same type of savings you and others are suggesting can often be found -- or even just for the original $7000 then -- perfection. Is that helpful enough? That's what I suggested before.

Is there another sister named Eve or Sybil?

Neo was not stirring any pots that I noticed...maybe a nest of little hornets but no pots.

As someone who has enjoyed staying in a ParisPerfect Apartment..I can say that they are definitely not 3 star, doubt they would be 4 star and you might be happier in the George V or Plaza Athenee if this is your problem.

I still do not understand why the troll sisters think they would prefer an apartment. Do they really want to run the vacuum cleaner, put clothes in the washer and go shopping in 1-star supermarkets?

It all becomes more confusing. Squeak, previously (a year or more ago) you mentioned how you wanted to stay in a luxury apartment rather than a hotel, and then you did and you posted that you loved it (when you were asking the reasons others preferred apts. to hotels). So now I'm curious why you think your sister shouldn't do that? Is that why you're keeping your luxury apartment you stayed in a secret from her? And did you ever find one for your parents? You ask these questions and get a lot of help, but we never hear about the results.

Meanwhile I'm waiting to hear what I said that was accusatory, and why my suggestion of trying to get the apartment Weebles really likes for less money (which seems to be a distinct possibility according to Squeak) is NOT being regarded as a helpful suggestion?

squeak, honey: I don't see anything NP said or did to rile you up so much. Sure, he posted a few pretty detailed entries about the various searches you and your "sister" have run past the forum.

I think, if you take a peek you will see I was the first one to mention the screen name switcheroo.

So just calm yourself(s) down. And there probably won't be ANY flats in Paris that will fulfill "Weebles" fantasy of the George V amenities/quality/service in her price range. Like I tried to explain, a $1000 per night hotel room is one thing, but the same quality for a whole flat will cost substantially more.

I'd really like to hear about the trip for their parents? Did they love Paris? Where did they stay?
