Searching for small, cozy, quaint Barcelona hotel

Any ideas appreciated.

My husband and I are traveling to Spain in August and need to find a Barcelona hotel. I am hoping to find a small, welcoming, quaint, cozy place in Barcelona...perhaps independent. We'll be there for two nights only and want to be in a very good, central location. (Maybe near Las Ramblas.)

Ideas?

Ideally, we would like to stay around $100. But, we could go up a little from here.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Raco del Pi, in the Barri Gotic. I loved the location, about 7 minutes from las Ramblas and the Boqueria, and even closer to charming little placas and bars. Depending on your dates, it might be above your price range, but check their website to see for sure.

Thanks!! I'll look into these. Also, I should have said 100 euros. These days I'm not sure you can get much of anything for $100 in Europe!

We really enjoyed Hostal Goya, which is right near Placa Catalunya, and an ideal location. It was 90Euros/night, and very clean and modern. When I was hotel hunting in Barcelona, I didn't find much in the way of "quaint". Barcelona is a very hip moden city, and Hostal Goya suits it perfectly.

I stayed at the Banys Oriental in Barcelona last year--great location not far from the Picasso Museum and beautiful plaza near St. Marie de la Mer church. It's in the 90-100 Euro range still, I think. Rooms are modern and I thought it was a good value without being tired or tacky.
