Searching for an Apartment in 19th Arr. Paris for 2014
We have rented an apartment on two previous occassions and both times they fell short of our expectations for various reasons.
Even so, I'm prepared to give it another go next year I would very much like to stay in the 19th near Metro Laumiere or Ourq, even Stalingrad is fine.
It must accommodate two people and if at all possible be on the ground floor or have an elevator.
I have been searching the apartment lists for a week and still nothing suitable.
All suggestions gratefully accepted!

good luck, the problem is there are not very many short-term vacation rental apartments in those areas, the main agencies that cater to tourists likely won't have any. I searched some of the websites I used which aren't quite as mainstream, and even most of them didn't have anything in the 19th, and the few that were didn't meet your other criteria.
I thnk your best bet might be VRBO or Homeaway, places rented by owners to get out to the 19th.
However, I did find a couple that fit your description on www.parisattitude.com
no. 1134 1 BR near Ourcq, 5th fl with elevator
no. 8482 1 BR between Laumiere and Jures, 5th fl with elevator
both above have terrace or balcony

Chritina, you are terrific! I will be looking into those shortly. If all else fails we will get a hotel room and look for an apartment another time. The Holiday Inn in that area looks really good.

Those didn't look too bad to me, actually, and they are more modern which can be nice in some ways (one said it was an old building, didn't look it), especially if you want AC as I noticed one had it. Well, it's newer out that direction.
I think there is an Ibis out that way near the canal, but the HI would probably be nicer.

Have you tried Airbnb, Tod? I just searched their Paris database for the 19th, putting in the criteria for "whole apartment", "elevator in building, and "handicapped accessible" I got 127 apartments. I looked at the Metro stop proximity, and here is one near Laumiere https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/957130 Here are a coupe near Ourcq https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1108897 and https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/960416
We found a place through Airbnb not far from where you want to be in the 10th for this coming May.
Best of luck!
