Searching for a trip report
I am looking for a trip report on Rome, written by a daughter who travelled with her mother, (I think).
One of the areas she spent time in was Villa Torlonia and the Casina delle Civette. She also had links to some beautiful photographs. Can anyone tell me how to find her or her report? Thanks. |

(that's what the search function is for - works like a charm) |

eyemom84: "<i>Is this it? </i>"
could be -- however Casina delle Civette is not mentioned in the report you linked. It is in the first one. I used the advanced search function to key on a unique term - in this case, Casina delle Civette, that iluvitaly specifically mentioned. |
janisj: i was reading the TR link above. Wow. Great pics. That is probably the one iluvitaly is hunting... I can't stop reading. We are off to Rome in December and I have been scouring the Rome threads - can't believe I missed this one!

yeah - after I found the TR, I thought those photos were the give away. Some great shots . . . . .
(I love <B>LOVE</B> the search function since the system improvements. In the 'old days' finding it would have been just about impossible - but it only took me a few seconds) |
eyemom84 - Here are links to two of my favorite trip reports that focus on Rome. The first had some posts removed as a few people were quite rude about the typing among other things so if a comment or two seems odd, that is the reason.

Thank you. Thank you.
janisj found it right away. I didn't realize the search function was that good, and I didn't know the writer's name or the name of the report. We are going back for our 12th visit to Rome next week and this area is one I want to explore. I have been wanting to get out to Villa Torlonia for a long time, just to see the stained glass work. I had her trip report in the back of my mind and remembered she had so much detail, and other places nearby that I could include. Funny, I remembered the great photos and information but forgot she didn't exactly fall in love with Rome. thanks again, Fodorite detectives. |
kybourbon.
I remember that first trip report. It was such a cute one, thanks for sending the link so I can re-read it. The second one I had never read and at a glance it seems I missed a good one. Better late than never. thanks |
kybourbon, janisj-
Thank you! i loved kristina's 4 friends TR (& blog) and i even made my first google map of sites/hotel/restaurants and gelaterias in my effort to start our Rome itinerary . I had not seen theresa10's TR either. I am still learning to navigate this site -what a treasure. iluvitaly- Have a great time in italy next week and thanks for this thread:-) As my MIL would say "i'm bustin" with excitement about my upcoming Rome trip! |
janisj-----what did you type in the search square to find that? I never have any luck doing that.
|
I searched on Casina delle Civette. Used the advance search and checked the box to search full topic and replies. I used a 2 year span because iluvitaly didn't mention how old the trip report was.
That is all it took . . . |
janisj-----I finally get it, thanks so much.
