Dear Kittie, Apologie accepted. My point was, there are many other chat room's and forums to discuss Sean Connery or any thing else you may be interested in. This forum is for people who are looking for advice on traveling to areas they are not familiar with. It's a wealth of information and those of us, who are not well traveled, in certain areas, receive a tremendous amount of good advice. Denise

Besides, we would really rather talk about Robert Redford, Kevin Costner, or Antonio Banderas.

Denise,

I guess I should have stated in my original post that if I mentioned Sean Connery when I visit Scotland in October (since he is the only Scottish personallity that I know of)...would I get the "cold shoulder" or a "great welcome"...
Kittie

Kittie, If you visit Italy, do you ask about Mussolini, If you visit Germany, do you ask about Hitler...What's you question?
|
She might. I might. Is that a big problem? As has been said before, if you don't like the posting, simply pass it by. No need to apologize as far as I'm concerned, Kittie. I'm no Sean Connery fan but this discussion was worth reading just for the Toto banter. Elvira cracks me up.

The real Sean Connery died shortly after the first Bond film, so they found a look-alike and provided plastic surgery to continue capitalizing on his popularity. However, after studying for a year with Bruce Lee in Oakland, the look-alike could not handle the pressure of secrecy and began taking it out on his new wife and children. He now claims that Bruce Lee is in a convalescent resort, on a secret island mansion owned and operated by Elvis Presley for disabled stars in hiding such as Bruce, John Lennon, John Kennedy, and others. Marlon Brando had first tried to buy this island, but was outbid by Elvis. Marlon eventually settled for a less expensive island elsewhere. For more such fascinating information, see:

http://[email protected]
Denise --

Just who is wasting whose time? If you're trying to get info on places to stay in Europe -- WHY would YOU open a thread entitled "Sean Connery"? Then have the nerve to criticize the 30+ other responders?

Kittie -

You certainly don't need to apologize for Denise's rudeness.

Did Monica ever get to Scotland, and learn the answer to the question?
Wow, what a topic, from Sean, to whisky to politics to Kanzas! By the by, there was, at one time, over 20 accepted ways to spell the state's name, as a native I choose, "Kanzas", and yes, we're quite sick of the OZ thing, although I've seen some pretty funny, albeit "sick", t-shirts "literature" on the subject of late.
The Kanzas countryside, like Scotland,is often misconstrued and is a fairly well kept secret. A friend of mine, visiting from England last fall, commented on the quiet beauty of our Flint Hills by saying, "The only places I've ever seen like it is the plain at Salisbury and some of the back country in Scotland."
At any length, this forum has been one of the best I've seen on these sometimes "dry" pages. Thanks, Kittie!
