Seaham for Sea Glass
Looking for info for early May trip to London and how to go to Seaham, i.e., train or bus? Has anyone been to Seaham to look for glass? I know the tide is a big factor and if you need to stay the night, any suggestions? Thanks for any info.

darn it - lost my post. . . .
Anyway, I assume you know Seaham is nowhere near London. It is in far NE England and closer to Edinburgh than to London. To get there from London by train will take about 4 hours with a change at Newcastle. You would absolutely have to spend the night. Is Seaham a 'must' - You have left it too late to get a cheap train fare. |
Thank you. No, not a must...just a thought. (Posting today is horrible! Site freezes .)

Lots of UK beaches have sea glass so you could easily find somewhere closer to London for your beachcombing :-)

Really? Great! Suggestions? I live in a town on Lake Michigan and pick up glass weekly - love it....almost an obsession. Breathe the air and smile. Also pick up rocks with holes or heart shaped....makes for fun jewelry.

There are a fair few pebbly beaches nearer London where you might get lucky: Brighton, Hastings, Deal, for example.

Thank you! Will start checking out towns.
