Scuba in Spain?

I'm thinking about traveling to Spain to scuba dive this spring/summer. Besides Costa del Sol, are there any other destinations that could be recommended? Thanks in advance!!!

Suba can be found in most coastal places around Spain.
Here in Galicia the waters are colder than the Med and I understand the water is not so clear. But there are quite a few interesting places to dive.

The above I have found via a google search and i do not have any knowledge about them.

A nephew who was attending a Spanish Air Force Flight school in that area told us that the best Scuba diving in Spain is along the Costa Calida: Cartagena, Murcia, Almería. I'm not into that so I can't give you any first hand info.

Some beaches along Spain's 'Med' coast have become notorious for pollution; so if it were me, I would concentrate my search to el Mar Cantabrico and the Atlantic (like Islas Cies).

Scuba diving can also be found on the Costa Brava, specifically at the Sa Rascassa diving center (Begur area) and in L;Estartit at Les Illes and the Medes Immersio Club.

If you read Spanish, you can access all the diving centers at www.buceo.com

Don't expect caribbean/Indonesian type schools of fish here. Do your research to realy see where the best places are for what you are looking for.

If you just want to wear a mask and fins and float around or shallow dive to see a morena or octupus, that can be done near any rocky coast. The warmer ones would be more pleasant to say the least.

But if you are looking for REAL amazing fish.. better ask an expert.

I am not an expert, but I've been Scuba diving in Australia, Maldives, Kenya, Madagasgar, Finland, Sweden and Spain.
The Med - like the like to say, it seems - is easy:-)
But I agree with ribeirasacra. The northern coast is colder but more interesting. So, two more millimetres of Neoprene and you will prefer the Atlantic to Mediterranean.
But, the eastern and southern coasts of Spain are much more touristic and there are more diving companies/schools. In Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria... check the internet first and contact the service provider beforehand.
