Scottish Itinerary

My husband and I are leaving for Scotland this Monday. We've only had a few days to plan for this trip. We'll be there for 7 days and plan to rent a car. The rough itinerary I've set up based on a map and a guide book is: Loch Lomond (because near airport), Glen Coe, Sky (2 nights), Loch Ness, Sterling, and the last night in Loch Lomond. Is this schedule do-able? Do we need reservations before leaving or can we find B&Bs as we travel?

We've never driven in Europe before and it seems a little intimidating.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This schedule is fine, IMHO. You aren't trying to cross the entire country each day, which many people try to do.

Skye is great, I highly recommend the Tir Alainn B&B. I would call ahead for B&Bs thsi time of year, just to be safe, as it is definitely tourist season.

Make sure to stop in Oban on the way in or out of Skye.

Oban will be a back flip on your route. Give it a miss this time.

Looks good to me, have fun!

We stayed at the Royal Hotel in Portree, Skye and were pleased with it.

Id recommend a Bella Jane boat trip on Skye.

Tom,
Give yourself a break and spend a few extra dollars for a vehicle with an automatic transmission. It eliminates one more headache when driving on the left for the first time. Best of luck.
