Scotland /Wales Trip

Would like opinions about a 10 day trip we are planning for October. Would like to see Scotland and Wales. Could someone suggest which cities could be seen in 10 days. Would it be too much to see Edinburgh, Glasgow and 1 city in Wales? Which city in Wales would you recommend?
Thanks, Bill

Dont know wales but edinburgh is a delightful city to visit. Rail connections are good between edin & glasgow. I highly suggest at least 2 days in edinburgh. the views from the castle are great and will give you a general view of the city's layout. Try a tour underground for a unique perspective of edin's past. Great pubs, parks, museums, bagpipes & kilts. HAVE FUN!!!!!

If you are going to Scotland and Wales -- are you sure you want to just see cities?? Edinburgh is amazing but other than that city, the VAST majority of visitors spend most of their time in the countryside/rural areas.

Are you driving or relying on public transport?

What research have you done and do you have some ideas for places to visit?

What sorts of things do you enjoy/want to see?

Where are you arriving and leaving from and how many actual days?

There are LOTS of Scotland and Wales experts on here -- but we can't plan your trip for you -- we can make suggestions if you give us something to work w/.

You could easily do Edinburgh, Glasgow, Cardiff and Swansea, if that is your choice.

As janis says, don't forget the countryside.

You could go into north Wales; Snowdonia National Park is really lovely.

Wales - forget the cities
ElendilPickle has the right idea - North Wales - castles and Snowdonia
Scotland - Edinburgh is the city that I would do and then off to the Highlands
Really - both these areas have gorgeous countryside - so spending a lot of time in cities would really be a shame.
