Scotland travel by car Islay to Inverness
We're taking the ferry from Islay to Kennacraig. How far a drive is it up to Inverness by car? (how many hours????) We will be taking the trip at 8pm when the ferry arrives (though I think it might still be daylight in June) and have our stay booked in Inverness. Any important sights along the way?

You should either take the morning ferry, which gets you to Kennacraig just after noon, or consider spending the night in Tarbet.
While it is still light at 8 PM in June, you only have about 2 hours of daylight left, and it would be a shame to drive through the lovely scenery in the dark and miss it all. Besides, the roads are narrow and winding and would be no fun to drive at night.

Sorry but there has been a definite miscalculation of time/distance. Kennacraig to Inverness starting out after 8 PM is just not realistic on any level.
Are you are booked into a B&B or small hotel in Inverness that night? I seriously doubt they will want to check you in at 2 or 3 AM.
