Scotland tour guides

My husband and I are planning to return to Scotland in September 2004. On our last visit in May, 2001 we used a personal driver/tour guide, Sandy Stevenson. On the next trip, we would like to once again use the services of a driver/tour guide for a multi-day trip. Can anyone make any suggestions in case Sandy is not available? Thanks

We are using a guide my friend has used several time: contact Derek at [email protected]
My friend uses him for groups she take over there. Her name is Phyllis and I am Nancy.Good luck.

We used the services of Margot McMurdo several years ago and loved her.

My friend John Begg does it too. You'll get him on

We are planning to use a driver/guide next June, there are six of us. We do not have one yet so I would appreciate any suggestions.
Can you tell me how to go about this? Do you pay for the guide's room & meals
when on a multi day trip? Does the price charged by the guide cover those expenses as included? Is it practical to stay in one place (for example Beauly)and have the driver pick us up and tour day by day to the Highlands sites we want to see? Thanks.

John's the only one I know who does this and the requirements of his customers vary. If what you're going to do is what you suggest, I think you need to find a locally based guide.

Try "the Internet Guide to Scotland Online" or "Undiscovered Scotland" for suggestions of people.
